Bleeding

Bleeding requires you to remain calm so you can help your dog. Try not to excite the dog; talk to her soothingly to help her keep still. Apply gentle pressure on the wound with your hand or fingers, using a clean cloth if one is available. Dress the wound with a bandage but do not pull it too tightly. You may apply an ice pack to keep the area cold in order to slow the bleeding. Get to a veterinarian, where the wound can be cleaned and sutured, if necessary.

In an emergency, your dog will rely on you.
